Photography
Hiya!
In case you can’t tell from the massive amounts of photos I post, I am in love with photography! I am by no means an expert but I strive everyday to learn more and develop my own style. Pretty much every day I can be found reading one photography book or another, scouring the web for photo sites and blogs for inspiration and advice, watching YouTube videos to learn new (and I’ll admit, even basic) techniques, and most importantly, fiddling around with my camera (read: snapping lots of photos) in an attempt to figure out all its bells and whistles.
I am far from where I want to be and still have so much to learn, but I have to say that so far it’s been a blast developing this hobby of mine and I am sure it will remain so for a long time to come.
I’ve noticed that I am posting more and more photos on this blog and sometimes the photos out number the words. I think this is generally fine, but at some point I may focus my photography energy on a dedicated photo blog–which I’ve already established but have yet to post to.

What I use:
- Nikon D90
- 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Nikkor
- 50mm f/1.8 D Nikkor
- Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote
- Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home camera bag
Other odds and ends:
- Hoya UV filters for each lens
- 3 Nikon EN-EL3e Li-ion battery packs
- Nikon lens hoods for each lens
- Photoshop CS5 (I should have started with Elements or Lightroom! This program is a behemoth!)
My wish-list:
- A nice, light, carbon-fiber tripod (though I know I will settle for something less expensive!)
- A battery grip (now that I have 3 batteries, it makes sense to invest in one of these)
- Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash
- Tokina 11-16mm Ultra-wide angle lens (or another ultra-wide angle)
- 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX Micro Nikkor (or another macro lens)
I’d love to hear from other photog-buffs out there! Anything I should add/remove from my wish list? Any recommendations for useful websites or books? Should I separate photography specific posts from my general “Bulgaria” posts at some point through a dedicated photo blog? Have some great photos you want to share?
