My 30 Before 30 List

I am about to celebrate my 26th birthday and now more than ever I feel the need to focus my energies and set some fun, life-fulfilling goals. I am sure that over time I will add more than 30. Can’t wait to get started with my #1 goal… Move to Bulgaria!

As always, I’ll cross things off as I achieve them!

In no particular order, the list:

  1. Move to Bulgaria (12/29/11)
  2. Become a mom
  3. Ride a camel in the shadows of the Great Pyramids at Giza
  4. Write a children’s book
  5. Plant a vegetable and/or herb garden (and eat from it!)
  6. Go bungee jumping and/or sky diving
  7. Visit at least 10 new countries
  8. Go vegetarian for one month
  9. Swim with the jellyfish in Palau
  10. Start a grown-up liquor collection (and display on a “bar” in my home)
  11. Buy a house (or apartment, as the case may be!)
  12. Learn enough Bulgarian to feel confident going out on my own (i.e. sans the hubby)
  13. Buy a Le Creuset french oven and make something delicious (bread?!)
  14. Read the top 100 novels of all time (Modern Library Association List)
  15. Rock out at a music festival
  16. Learn how to sew and make something pretty
  17. Crochet or knit a baby blanket (hopefully for my own bambino)
  18. Finish my Europe scrapbook from my graduation trip in 2004
  19. Make an entire Thanksgiving meal by myself
  20. Explore the catacombs in Rome
  21. Lose 30 lbs. (I wasn’t going to put in a weight goal, but alas, I couldn’t help it!)
  22. Take my photography to the next level (i.e. actually read my camera’s manual and get off of Auto mode!)
  23. Visit Auschwitz-Birkenau
  24. Learn to drive a manual car
  25. Pay off my student loans
  26. Learn to can veggies and fruit (hoping my Bulgarian Mother-in-Law can help me with this one!)
  27. Complete a 365 photo challenge
  28. Go to a wine tasting at a vineyard
  29. Buy a journal and have a go at Keri Smith’s 100 ideas
  30. Design and code my own blog (maybe this one!?)

You can cross sewing off your list… You made a vinyl wallet! :)

Love this! I’m a list maker too, and just recently posted my own “Life List” because I find that making it public is a great motivator. Good luck with crossing things off.

I have never had a list for my life. Until recently I didn’t think I needed one. I have found being a mom, I let go of who I am. I know I am still me under all the mom stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom. I also want to be me. I think starting a list for me will remind me to live life a little just for me every now and again. Awesome list. Inspirational.

I’m just getting to grips with my own “30 before 30″ list and yours has given me lots of inspiration and a smile or too! I wish you good luck and hope you find what you are looking for before the big 3-0 :)

Thanks! I am slowly working my way through the list, but I think I can knock them all off before hitting 30!

Swim with jellyfish?!? What’s wrong with you! You are crazy. They freak me out completely! I think a lot of these things may need to be accomplished before #2. Oh, and if you visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, I may not be friends with you anymore due to extreme jealousy! I may have to make my own list!

Oh, Natile. Click on this link to read more. They don’t have stingers. I think it would be amazing to swim with MILLIONS of jellyfish! Honestly, this is at the top of my life list. I think I could die happy if I was able to accomplish this! As for Auschwitz, it’s at the top of my list as well, but I am more reluctant to do this one, for obvious reasons. I think it would be a life-changing experience, but it’s got to be hard to go there knowing what happened. And yes, make your own list! Not only would I love to read it, but I think it’s always good to set goals for oneself!

    #9: Survivor fan by chance?

Ha ha. Yes, I have watched a season or two in my time. However, I think I first saw Jellyfish lake on a travel show on PBS. Ever since I have been dying to go. It would be the most amazing experience!

This is such a great idea!

Wow..learning to drive a manual car shouldn’t be a big thing;) I hope u get the opportunity to manage all of them..cause unfortunately things never turn out the way you expect!

I enjoyed this. 7, 25 and 27 are excellent and I second those! Maybe I should make a 25 before 25 list and then at 25 I can make a 30 before 30 list. Life flies, huh?

I am a list lover, so I say definitely make a 25 before 25 list. That way you can set even higher goals to achieve before 30!

Aw these all are so great! :) I didn’t read my camera’s manual either haha

  11. December 21, 2011 8:53 pm

I like #22. When I by off-chance take a great photo I thank my camera, but when I take a bad one I blame myself for not getting the settings just right; there are so many possibilities. Look forward to reading more of your blog!
